Incredible $30 Cartography Software Bundle Represents a Virtual Tabletop GM's Dream

After a short availability back in April, the Map Making Mega Bundle is back with an encore that lasts until Dec. 2. Described as a "treasure trove of assets and apps" created by ProFantasy Software over the years, the entire collection is valued at more than thirteen hundred dollars. Additionally, there exist three different bundles available here.

The Main Attraction

The big draw is certainly a lifetime license to the CC3+ software, an industry-standard cartography program which enables users to generate various types including fantasy overworld maps, detailed regional charts, city maps, and, perhaps most importantly, dungeon and tabletop battle maps.

A regional fantasy map generated in the CC3+ software platform.

Package Levels

Entry Level

The cheapest bundle tier, at a minimum cost of $1, features merely four of the 39 total items: Fantasy Overland Symbol Collection, Token Treasury: Monsters 1, Castle Source Maps, Urban Source Maps. This package suits cartographers who already have CC3+, yet it provides fresh fantasy design elements for landscape mapping, over seven hundred fifty creature tokens compatible with online gaming platforms, more than two dozen aerial castle designs including hundreds of map markers, eight complete urban centers, plus seventy-plus building interiors.

Intermediate Package

The eight-product collection for at least $15 is where things get more interesting by adding in permanent CC3+ access, Cartographer's Annual Vol 1, Ultimate Mapping Guidebook, and Symbol Set 6: Isometric Cities. Cartographer's Annual is the annual collection from ProFantasy's long-running monthly subscription service featuring multiple CC3+ enhancements including map packs and additional utilities. Isometric Cities lets you display cities with an extra dimension with isometric views from all sides. Meanwhile, the Mapping Tome is a 760-page suitable for novices and experts, full of tips and tutorials covering cartography techniques.

Complete Collection

Starting at thirty dollars, the 39-item bundle contains these components:

  • Advanced Terrain Generator
  • Dungeon Creation Tool
  • Urban Planning Software
  • Cosmic Mapping System
  • Perspectives 3
  • Scene Builder
  • Character Design Module
  • Symbol Set 2: Fantasy Floorplans
  • Symbol Set 3: Modern
  • Symbol Set 4: Dungeons of Schley
  • Schley Urban Pack
  • Token Treasury: Monsters 2
  • Religious Structure Maps
  • World War 2 Interactive Atlas
  • World Creation Guide
  • Cartographer’s Annual Vol 1-17
  • Permanent CC3+ Access
  • 3D City Symbols
  • Tome of Ultimate Mapping
  • Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland
  • Monster Token Set 1
  • Source Maps: Castles!
  • Metropolitan Source Maps

Every volume of Cartographer's Annual are included here, alongside a slew of other resource and asset packs enabling creators to craft complete solar systems, or focus exclusively on traditional fantasy world-building: combat arenas, underground complexes, cities, and land masses in multiple viewpoints. Users can also create character illustrations. For $30 as opposed to $15, the complete collection is so worth it, particularly for mappers with temporary CC3+ access seeking permanent licensing. But it's obviously an even better deal for cartography beginners considering you even get introductory guides to help you get started. The one caveat here is that while the purchase is available on any platform, the software is only usable on Windows.

Charitable Component

Similar to previous bundles, a portion of each sale supports charitable organizations. In this instance, the beneficiary is Save the Children, established in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb dedicated to enhancing children's welfare globally through education, health care, and emergency relief. The Bundle Filters option appear near the page top, though users may also choose their donation amount on the right side of the page. There's also an donation allocation menu just below that, enabling adjustment of the distribution percentage allocated between the platform, developer, and charity.
